A850 Telemetry Gateway

Debugging

The A850 Telemetry Gateway optionally supports the inclusion of debug messages in the system logs. To change the log level, use the links below: (needs root login):

• Turn on logging of debug messages  
• Turn off logging of debug messages  

For cases where starting the Configurator does not work or is not desired, you can use the following links to retrieve basic debugging information (needs admin or root login):

• Download important debugging information   to a local file
• Download all debugging information   to a local file
  Caution: this is a very large download (may exceed 100 MiB)!
• View important debugging information   in your browser

Note: To view the downloaded files, you need an archiving software that supports GZIP and a text viewer with Unix line ending support.

Configuration

Analyzing and Backup Configuration File

For analyzing, or if there are any problems starting the Configurator application, you can download the configuration file here (needs admin or root login):

• Backup the configuration   to a local file
• View the configuration   in your browser

Restore Configuration File

Here, you can restore your configuration (needs root login):

Upgrade/Update Tool

Here, you can update either a configuration file or a sensor type file to the version running on this A850. These files are only converted but not installed! (needs root or admin login):

• Update and return an A850 configuration or sensor type file
• Upgrade an A840 configuration or sensor type file for the A850 gateway

Note: To view the downloaded file, you need an archiving software that supports GZIP and a text viewer that supports Unix line endings.

A850 Firmware Upgrade

You can upload multiple A850 firmware image files via the following link (needs root login):

• Select locally stored A850 firmware image files
• Wait  seconds and 

  , confirm by entering 'yes':

You can list the A850 firmware image files already uploaded and not installed by using the following links (needs root login):

• List/manage uploaded image files   in your browser

Note that you have to manually reboot the A850 Telemetry Gateway after uploading the last firmware image file to upgrade the firmware and, if you do not use an NTP server, set date and time after rebooting!

Upload Series 6 RTU Firmware (FOTA)

You can upload (needs root login) or manage (needs admin or root login) the Series 6 RTU image using the following links:

Mobile Applications

You can manage applications for mobile devices via the following link (needs root login):

• Select locally stored application files

Note that these applications do not get automatically updated when updating the A850 Telemetry Gateway firmware. In case of incompatible firmware changes, you need to manually update the installed mobile applications, too!

For cases where automatic downloads of configuration and data files is not feasible, you may use the following links to get the file lists:

Note: To view the downloaded files, you need an archiving software that supports GZIP and a text viewer with Unix line ending support, as well as a binary file viewer.

Installing Java

To use the Configurator application, you need to have Java 8 version installed on your computer.

Note that you might need administrator privileges on your computer to install software packages. In case of problems installing the Java package, contact your local IT support.
